Brother-in-law to D'Arcy Boulton Jr. Educated by Strachan at Kingston and Cornwall. The Chief Justice of Upper Canada 1829-1863, Legislative Councillor (1830-1841), Executive Councillor (1829-1831). He was a director of the Bank of U. C. from 1824 to 1826. After 1841 had little political influence.
