Chief Factor Hudson's Bay Company, 1855. That year, under instructions from the Company, he made an expedition down Great Fish River, or Back River, to the Arctic Coast. He had been engaged previously in the Company's service on the Pacific coast. Left a journal of his Arctic expedition; also one on the North West coast.
